Naruto Spin Off Manga To Launch In April

Earlier this month, Masashi Kishimoto’s world famous Weekly Shonen Jump manga Naruto concluded following fifteen years of publication. At the end of the final chapter, a tentative “2015” announcement was made for a short, spin-off series and through an interview with Japan’s Entermix magazine, we have learned some new details about Masashi Kishimoto’s post-Naruto career.

The currently untitled spin-off manga will begin serialisation in April 2015 and projects related to the ninja series will be keeping him busy until the summer. While the manga artist does have ideas for various non-Naruto projects though, he told the magazine that as he is approaching forty, the schedule of a weekly serialisation might be a challenge and that there are some things he would like to do before returning to work as a manga artist though, such as finally taking his wife of ten years on a honeymoon and playing with his child.

In recent years, Kishimoto has had one-shot manga featured in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and JUMP Square anthology magazines.
