Owarimonogatari marks a return to form for the Monogatari franchise. With NISIOISIN’s talent for writing mystery stories shining through, this is an entry not to be missed. Especially if you’ve been eager to learn more about Ougi Oshino!

Overall Bakemonogatari Volume 1 proves a successful adaptation of a beloved franchise. Newcomers and existing fans alike will enjoy diving into the world of Monogatari and meeting the delightful cast of characters. If you're yet to experience this series in any form then this is the perfect time to climb aboard! 

Overall, Koyomimonogatari has proven to be an entertaining read. While it’s not the best in the series, the final couple of stories included in Part 2 make up for having to read through two volumes of otherwise unsubstantial tales.

Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu brings this prequel story to a close wonderfully. With dramatic action, heartfelt discussions, and good old Monogatari humour, there is plenty to enjoy here. Both newcomers and longtime fans will want to own this trilogy in their collections! 

This part of Kizumonogatari is better paced than the first, with more to keep you engaged. Both newcomers to the story and those who have read the light novel will find plenty to like here with SHAFT’s wonderful and quirky animation.

Koyomimonogatari is a refreshing change from the adventures we’ve embarked on thus far, although its English release may prove to be its downfall for some.

Kizumonogatari is off to a slow but entertaining start. Having read the novel, I’m looking forward to what comes next in the films. However, even newcomers to Kizumonogatari’s story will be hooked from this intriguing beginning.

The final season of Monogatari is off to an intriguing start. Tsukimonogatari may be but a stepping stone on the road to a much bigger story, but it’s changing the franchise in fundamental ways. NISIOISIN continues to keep his beloved series alive with new and compelling developments.

Koimonogatari is a compelling and satisfying end to the second season of Monogatari. With a fresh face narrating and so much at stake, this volume is a real page turner that you’ll be unable to put down.

Although Katanagatari doesn’t quite hit the heights of NISIOISIN’s Monogatari franchise, I’m sure fans of his work will still find a lot to like here as this first volume proves an enjoyable read. In fact this series is almost worth checking out just for the incredible effort that has gone into the translation.

Overall, Onimonogatari places itself among my favourite entries in the Monogatari series for giving us another story with Shinobu and Araragi. You can rest assured that everything you know and love about Monogatari is still present and accounted for.
