Review: End of Evangelion

We kick off this week’s UK reviews with Martin Butler’s look at Hideaki Anno’s seminal (yet controversial) conclusion to Neon Genesis Evangelion; The End of Evangelion.

• And this is the most striking aspect of EoE: the plot. Convoluted and ambiguous storylines are common in anime, and this is one of the biggest head trips out there. Repeated viewings are probably essential for appreciation of the multilayered storyline.
