Geneon license Gankutsuou

By way of a DVD trailer, Geneon have revealed their US acquisition of Gankutsuou. This anime series is a highly rated sci-fi retelling of the famous book The Count of Monte Cristo. It has been produced by Gonzo, the popular anime studio behind the likes of Last Exile and Hellsing.

Given MVM’s tendency to release the majority of Geneon’s newer shows in the UK (Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent being some of the most recent examples), a Gankutsuou UK DVD release is now well within the realms of possibility.
