Stand Alone Complex movie announced

According to reports on Anime on DVD, Production I.G. are planning to “re-cut” Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for a 140-minute movie re-telling of “the Laughing Man” story arc from the series. Although a lot of footage from the series is expected to be used, new (and “theatrical” quality) animation is also being promised as well as re-recorded dialogue.

This movie will be released on Japanese DVD on the 23rd of September. As yet, no Western releases have been revealed.
