Optimum Miyazaki and Ghibli releases set

Optimum Asia have revealed they will be releasing Hayao Miyazaki’s fantasy adventure Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind on the 26th September as part of “The Studio Ghibli Collection”, along with The Cat Returns on the same day.

On the 17th October (but not part of the Studio Ghibli collection), Miyazaki’s Lupin III adventure The Castle of Cagliostro (previously released by Manga Ent) will be re-released by Optimum along with Little Norse Prince. Little Norse Prince is a Toei film on which Miyazaki was a key animator.

It’s also worth mentioning that Optimum have released the tragic anime war movies Barefoot Gen 1 & 2 (as a combined DVD package) in the UK today.
