The Cat Returns on Film4 & Japanorama on BBC3 in Sept

Following on from Film4’s Hayao Miyazaki season in August, lately there has been a few new anime (or anime related) broadcasts announced for UK TV during September.

The Cat Returns – a Studio Ghibli movie directed by Hiroyuki Morita (a kind of spin-off from Whisper of the Heart), will be airing on Film4 on the 3rd of September at 3PM (dubbed) or the 7th of September (subtitled).

Princess Mononoke (dubbed) will be airing on Film4 on Friday, 8th of September at 6:25PM.

A new season of Japanorama (a documentary series presented by Jonathan Ross looking at Japan’s quirky pop culture) will begin on BBC3 on Thursday the 7th of September at 11PM. During the first series, Jonathan Ross interviewed an array of Japan’s famous anime and movie directors including Hayo Miyazaki, Mamoru Oshii and Ryuhei Kitamura.

Finally – although there are no concrete dates just yet – the CITV channel is expected to air a Dragonball Z movie at some point in early September.
