Live action Slam Dunk movie (made in Taiwan)

The famous basketball manga “Slam Dunk”, which at the peak of it’s popularity during the mid-nineties spawned a 100+ episode TV series and had millions of graphic novels in circulation around Asia, is set to be adapted into a big budget live action movie – in Taiwan.

Said to cost around $10 million, it will become the most expensive Taiwanese movie of all time. Starring is upcoming actor/musician Jay Chou (“Initial D”) while the creative staff involved include action director Tony Ching Siu Tung (“House of Flying Daggers”) and art director Yee Chung Man (Oscar nominated for her costume design in “Curse of the Golden Flower”).
