Japanese Embassy in the UK plans manga exhibition & comp.

In celebration of the growing spotlight on Japanese pop culture in the Western world, the Japanese Embassy in the UK is organising a series of events based around one of it’s most popular exports; manga. Titled Manga Jiman (translates to “having pride in manga”), the exhibition will feature “a selection of those publishers who are helping to make Japanese cartoon culture available for everyone in the UK”, as well as a seminar investigating “What is Manga?” and finally, a manga writing competition – in which the winner of the first prize will be awarded with two return-air tickets to Japan.

All of this will be kicking off on the 11th of June and will last until the 29th (Monday to Friday, 9.30 am – 5.30 pm).
