New anime publisher appears in the US: New Galaxy Anime

With all the doom and gloom surrounding the US anime industry following the virtual collapse of publishing goliath Geneon, one would be fair to assume that this perhaps isn’t the best of times to enter the industry, but that hasn’t stopped “New Galaxy Anime“; a new anime DVD publisher based in California with plans to “specialize in family-friendly fare, particularly of the shoujo genre. Releasing rare, vintage titles with high nostalgic value ” The new company’s press release also states that “anime is a form of entertainment, but it is also a form of art”, essentially reassuring fans that they intend to release all of their anime as subtitled and dubbed with (little or) no edits.

New Galaxy Anime’s first release will be “The Fantastic Adventures of Unico”, a 1981-dated movie directed by the god-of-manga himself, Osamu Tezuka.
