Sony’s Animax launching in UK by the end of 2007?; RaptureTV

News posted at Brand Republic and on the Digital Spy community forums appears to suggest that Sony are seriously looking at launching their anime devoted TV channel “Animax” in the UK (along with their “action adventure” channel AXN). However, because the “Sky platform isn’t allowing any new channels”, Animax is most likely to debut as a video-on-demand station on “‘a major cable operator’ before the end of the year”. Anime UK News will keep you posted on developments with Animax as and when they happen.

Also, we recently received word that RaptureTV, which aired both Fullmetal Alchemist and Wolf’s Rain back in 2005, is still alive and looking to regain it’s former glory – pending an appeal against Ofcom over their dispute with BSkyB. Of course, there is no guarentee that RaptureTV would air anime if it returns, however, if you enjoyed watching the channel, it’s worth noting that their official website and forums are still going strong.
