Hollywood talent signs on for Astro Boy flick

IMAGI’s computer graphics Astro Boy film continues to progress at a steady pace with the news that the movie’s voice cast now includes some big-name Hollywood talent, not least of all Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy and Eugene Levy.

Astro Boy is, of course, based on Osamu Tezuka’s original children’s sci-fi manga (of same name) that ran from 1952 until 1968. IMAGI’s version will be directed by David Bowers (his only previous directing credit is 2006’s CG movie “Flushed Away“) and should be released at some point in 2009.
