The Familiar of Zero’s Author Noboru Yamaguchi has cancer

The Author of The Familiar of Zero light novels series Noboru Yamaguchi which is also known as Zero no Tsukaima in Japan, has announced that he has cancer in an advanced stage. During February of this year Yamaguchi underwent a diagnosis where doctors told him that he had cancer and was advancing rapidly to the point of surgery being impossible.

During May they found gallstone which was unrelated to his cancer, and was removed during surgery. During the surgery the cancerous growth had shrunk. Yamaguchi learned after that there is surgery that may cure him and is planning to have that during early August of next month.

Yamaguchi was still working on The Familiar of Zero 21st volume of the light novel series, but due to the result of his cancer he is more focus on having a successful surgery and speedy recovery. He will then plan to finish off the volume and end the light novel series. The Familiar of Zero has been adapted into three anime television series and licenced by Funimation.
