Anime at the 25th Leeds International Film Festival
The 25th Leeds International Film Festival in November has a rather exciting line-up of films including Steven McQueen’s Shame and Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights. Now details have been released with its line-up of Japanese films and it includes anime and some pretty awesome live-action films.
Makoto Shinkai’s Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below will be screened on Tuesday November 15 at 6 p.m. at Vue in the Light 2; and again on Saturday November 19 at 12 noon at the Hyde Park Picture House.
Colorful will be screened on Monday November 14 at 6 p.m. at Vue in the Light 2.
Grave of the Fireflies will be screened on Saturday November 5, Hyde Park Picture House, 12 noon).

Karate Robo Zabogar will be screened at Vue in the Light 2 on Monday November 14 at 4 p.m. and Tuesday November 15 at 8 p.m.
Detroit Metal City, a “death metal romantic musical comedy” based on the manga by Kiminori Wakasugi will be screened on Wednesday November 16, Leeds Town Hall 1, 6 p.m.).
Yakuza Weapon, the live-action film of a manga by Ken Ishikawa (protégé of Go Nagai) will be screened on Thursday November 17, Vue in the Light 2, 8p.m.
Milocrorze: A Love Story will be double-billed with the opening episode of the anime series The Tatami Galaxy in a screening on Tuesday November 15, Hyde Park Picture House, 8 p.m).
