Trailer for French Roujin-Z Blu-ray

French animation website Catsuka has a trailer for the 2012 release of Roujin-Z by publisher Kazé.

Synopsis

In the near future mankind has developed advanced technology and modern comforts but one problem remains: the aging population. It is hoped that technology will once again come to help with a machine called Z-001 that is able to monitor health and provide all necessary care for the elderly replacing doctors and nurses. Kiyuro Takazawa is the first patient to be “volunteered” much to his nurse Haruko’s concern but once the machine interfaces with him it is subject to his desire to go to the beach and the machine goes beserk escaping from the hospital and leading the police on a merry chase leaving it up to Haruko to save him.

Originally released in 1991 the film was directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo (Blood: The Last Vampire, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) and written by Katsuhiro Otomo (director of Akira). The late Satoshi Kon also worked on this film as art director and set designer.

According to the website this is the first time that the film will be available in HD.
