A promotional video for a flash anime of Thermae Romae has been released.

Synopsis

The story sees Roman bath house architect Lucius travel through time to modern day Japan where he meets an aspiring manga artist named Mami and takes inspiration from modern day Japanese bath-houses.

This anime is an adaptation of Mari Yamazaki’s 2008 manga of the same name. It will air in Fuji TV’s Noitamina slot and will be the first Flash anime to do so. It has been directed by Azuma Tani who has worked on Haiyoru Nyaruani and High Score.

It isn’t the only adaptation as it will be followed by a live-action film starring Hiroshi Abe and Aya Ueto later in the year.

The anime will air for three weekly episodes in January followed by the live-action film which will be released on the 28th of April next year.
