Japanese Subculture Internet TV Site
We all love Japanese subcultures otherwise we wouldn’t be here but here’s an interesting site which combines internet TV and everything we love about Japan called Wao Ryu Japan which is billed as the first “Japanese Subculture Internet TV”. First glances look good because it has channels dedicated to anime and subjects. Other channels give us everything to do with popular Japan from a channel dedicated to idols and fashion to manga and light novels, a trivia channel which gives the low-down on Japanese vending machines and a channel where creators of art are interviewed.
A look at the schedule reveals some interesting programmes which have already played and are still on the cards.
Here’s a press release:
Broadcasting internationally in English, the variety of TV programs provide a unique viewer experience. The programs present an intimate introduction to anime, games, cosplay, beauty tips, traditional and modern culture, trivia, foreign reports, and language courses by going on site to film sets, production studios, and even behind the scenes, which are all holy grounds for fans of otaku culture and Japanese culture, not accessible outside Japan until now.
“WAO RYU JAPAN is the world’s first Japanese subculture Internet TV and hopes to become a bridge between the various Japanese subcultures and the fans of Japan all over the world, wherever, whenever.” said Takeshi Nakajima, producer of WAO RYU JAPAN.
The website has been fully launched for more than a month and can be found here.
