KITACON INVADES BIRMINGHAM IN MARCH 2014
THE LONG AWAIT IS OVER
The attendees of this weekend’s Gemucon were doubly blessed, not only with a fantastic weekend of games-related events and guests, but they were the first to hear the longed-for announcement that Kitacon would return to the Birmingham Metropole in 2014.
Kitacon is a not-for-profit, peer-to-peer convention, promoting Oriental and Geek culture, working with gaming, animation, toy and publishing industries to provide a fantastic experience. Guests have previously included voice actor stars such as Chris Patton, Brina Palencia, and Portal’s Ellen McLain. Its last event in 2012 catered for 1200 attendees, who cosplayed, partyed and gamed their way through 72 hours of anime, film, competition and music.
You can look forward to a full range of activities, including our spectacular programme of parties, live acts, exclusive screenings and panels. Alongside classics, such as “Build-A-Mech”, “Kita’s Got Talent?” and our late nighters, we will be introducing some fantastic new events, covering gaming, live-action fandom and even LARPing!
The convention, KITACON: INVASION, will take place from Friday 28th March to Sunday 30th March 2014 at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole NEC, with special room and hospitality rates will be available to our attendees, details of which will be announced closer to the opening of registration.
Kitacon: Invasion will also provide the dramatic conlusion to the FATE web series, which will be broadcast through 2013, along with “The Kitacon Preview Show”, on our YouTube channel, “Kitacon: Invasion Station”. The web shows will screen over the 12 month run-up to the convention bringing an episode every month via their YouTube Channel @ KitaconTV. The first episode will be released online at the end of April.
