Some Hyper Japan Events

Hyper Japan is set to kick-off at the end of the month on July 26th-28th and there are more and more events getting announced like these:

Let Us Entertain You! Introducing J-Music Stars VANIRU & Yanakiku

If you’re into J-music, or looking for a different sound, then HYPER JAPAN is a great place to become acquainted with some mega talented Japanese artists. Today we are delighted to announce two new duos who will be entertaining our visitors: broody goth inspired VANIRU, and sparky J-pop pair Yanakiku!   VANIRU are the latest talents to emerge from the label that launched the career of visual kei legends Buck Tick- and if that’s not an endorsement of their cool credentials, then frankly we don’t know what is. If you prefer your music a bit more peppy, then Yanakiku are your girls. Channelling both mainstream and sub-cultural Japanese influences, these cool and quirky decora influenced songstresses have a unique perspective on the world. Along with their trademark catchy melodies and dance routines, this pair distinguish themselves from the rest of the J-pop crowd with their ‘Kimocos’- a totally original mashup of cosplay and kimono that’s sure to take the fashion world by storm!

Get Involved at HYPER JAPAN!

There are lots of ways to get involved with HYPER JAPAN- from volunteering, the appearing on our stage! We’re still recruiting for three vital areas of the show- if any of these activities sound like your bag, then please do get your applications in. Applications don’t close for HYPER JAPANRecord Breakers until next week. Qualify to take part in our challenge, and there’s a one in twenty chance you’ll win flights to Tokyo! If you love J-fashion, there’s also time to apply to be a model in our Tokyo Fashion Story catwalk- we’ve got costumes on loan from Angelic Prettyand Phantásien, and we need eager Japanese fashion lovers to wear them for us. Finally, the Cosplay catwalk is waiting for you. Compete in our ECG preliminaries for the chance of winning a fantastic trip to Paris, or strut your stuff in the COSParade, and maybe win a super cool prize.
