Is a Soul Eater NOT anime announcement coming soon?
In February 2011, Square Enix’s Gangan Comics started to publish Soul Eater NOT, a spin-off set before the events of Atsushi Okubo’s popular Soul Eater shonen manga. Set inside the same Death City as the main series, Soul Eater NOT‘s story centres on Tsugumi Harudori, a new student at the DWMA with the ability to transform into a halberd, as well as her friends Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn, who are enrolled on the DWMA’s NOT (Normally Overcome Target) classes. The series, which has recently returned from a hiatus in Japan, carries the main manga’s supernatural themes but also carries a slighter, more slice of life tone to it.
The December issue of Monthly Shonen Gangan goes on sale in Japan on Tuesday and is set to reveal that the magazine’s January issue (on sale from 12th December) will feature an announcement regarding Soul Eater NOT. AnimeNewsNetwork Forums user Seaglopur25 has discovered that Kadokawa recently registered the domain name “souleaternot.tv”.
While nothing has been confirmed at this stage, does this mean an anime adaptation of Soul Eater NOT is in the works?
