Anime Limited launching Kickstarter for Patema Inverted Ultimate Edition

A while ago, Anime Limited announced that they had obtained the rights to Patema Inverted, a brand new fantasy movie directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Time of Eve), which won both the Audience and Judge awards at last year’s Scotland Loves Anime festival. The movie will also be seeing a theatrical release in the coming months, with a home video release later in the year.

After their highly successful Kickstarter campaign for a release of Mai Mai Miracle, the distributor has announced announced that that will again be going to Kickstarter, with a campaign launching this Friday to try and gain £16,000 to fund an “Ultimate Edition” physical release of Patema Inverted. Anime Limited have stated that unlike their previous Kickstarter, the purpose this time is to ensure that they can simply release the movie in the best possible way and to simply list what they would like to do on retailers such s Amazon, it would result in a price-tag of £84.99. A pledge of £35 however, will land you with an exclusively numbered Ultimate Edition of the movie, of which only 1,500 will be printed. If however, you simply want the basic movie in an amaray or collector’s edition packaging, supporting this Kickstarter will allow you to receive your copy before the general release for roughly £10 less than the RRP.

The list of backer rewards are:

  • £1+: A pack of Patema Inverted inverted wallpapers for phone, pc and tablet.
  • £5+: A Patema Inverted poster.
  • £10+: A Digital Pack including a digital mini-art book, free streaming access to the movie and credits for crowd producing.
  • £16+: A DVD/Blu-Ray combi-pack of the movie in a standard amary, as well as a bonus Kickstarter art card along with digital mini-artbook, wallpapers and crowd production credit.
  • £22+: The Collector’s Edition of the movie, including the DVD and Blu-Ray inside a rigid case, including a specificly numbered art card, an English translation of the original Japanese booklet and a digital booklet written by Jonathan Clements.
  • £35+: A copy of the Ultimate Edition, including the DVD and Blu-Ray inside a rigid case (similar to Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning), a replica “Letter from Lagos”, 136 page translated “Official Design Works” and crowd production credit.
  • £40+: A copy of the Ultimate Edition, a digital wallpaper pack, Jonathan Clement’s digital booklet and crowd production credit.
