Trailer for Live-Action Corpse Party

A trailer for the live-action movie adaptation of Corpse Party has been released by 5pb.

The Corpse Party movie is based on the famous horror game franchise which has spawned manga and anime adaptations. The live-action movie features AKB48 and Nogizaka46 member Rina Ikoma who makes her first starring role in this film. Ikoma takes the role of a third-year high school student named Naomi Nakashima.  Acting alongside her is Ryousuke Ikeoka, a member of the male acting group D-BOYS and Popteen magazine model Nozomi Maeda.

The film is directed by Masafumi Yamada. He is a specialist in the horror genre having worked on similar titles like Creepy Hide and Seek (2009), a film about a girl who gets haunted by demons when she plays a game of hide and seek, and X Game 2 (2012) which is about a group of people trapped in a school and stuck in a survival game.

The original PSP game was created by Team GrisGris and was about a group of school kids stuck in Heavenly Host Elementary, a place haunted by other kids. An updated version for the 3DS, Corpse Party: Blood Covered …Repeated Fear. Will be released on July 30th in Japan.
