Sony Confirms My Hero Academia Season 2, Part 1 for April Release

Update: Since publishing this article, the original press release removed mention of a Collector’s Edition for My Hero Academia Season 2 Part 1. The article has been updated to reflect this.


 

Almost a month has passed since online retailer Amazon spilled the beans about Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s plans to release My Hero Academia Season 2, Part 1 in the United Kingdom, but we finally have the long-awaited confirmation from the distributor themselves. The next part in the action-packed Shonen Jump adventure will be coming to DVD, Blu-ray and a Zavvi-exclusive Combi-Pack Collector’s Edition on 2nd April 2018. The Standard Edition DVD will include the season’s first 12 episodes and the “13.5” recap of Season 1. The Blu-ray however, will additionally include the following on-disc extras: 11 “Inside the Episodes”, “Anime Expo 2017: Interview with Yoshihiko Umakoshi”, promo videos and textless songs.

This marks the second release following Sony Pictures’ acquisition of North America distributor Funimation Entertainment. The first, Attack On Titan Season 2, was released on DVD, Blu-ray and as a Zavvi exclusive Collector’s Edition combi last month. The third season of My Hero Academia begins broadcast in Japan on 7 April 2018.
