Barbican Screening Legend of the Millennium Dragon
The Barbican will screen Legend of the Millennium Dragon on the 27th of November at 4pm.
Based on a 2004 two-volume novel by Takafumi Takada, the story follows a fifteen year old boy who travels back 1,200 years in time to the Heian period where he becomes involved in a war between oni (demons) and humans in the former capital of Japan, Kyoto.
Directed by Hirotsugu Kawasaki (Spriggan) and produced by Studio Pierrot, the DVD and Blu-Ray are due out on the 26th of December. The film is part of Premiere Japan which is a season of the latest films out from Japan including films like My Back Page starring Ken’ichi Matsuyama (Death Note, Usagi Drop) and A Man with Style from the excellent director Yuya Ishii who previously shot Sawako Decides.
Tickets are £9.50 online or £10.50 full price (concessions £8.50, Barbican members £7.50/£8.50) and can be purchased here.
