Anime Adaptation of Junji Ito’s Gyo

Perhaps the best horror manga creator around, Junjo Ito (Tomie, Spiral) has long had his work turned into live action films but now there is information confirming the release of the anime version of Junjo Ito’s manga Gyo. Directed by Takayuki Hirao (Kara no Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners) and produced by anime studio Ufotable (Kara no Kyoukai, Coyote Ragtime Show), details were revealed on an Amazon page where a rather creepy image has been released.

Synopsis

A young couple visit Okinawa and visit its beaches where they find themselves caught in the middle of a land invasion by dead fish.

The anime will be released on December the 14th in Japan.
