Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival in Cardiff

Tales From Earthsea, Arrietty, Paprika and Redline, will be screened at Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre on the 25th and 26th of November as part of the Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival.

The annual Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival showcases a number of different anime movies over two days as well as other cultural events.

Friday the 25th of November will see the screening of Japanese short animated films at the University of Glamorgan’s  ATRiuM building from 18:00 – 19:00. These films include,

La/Radio Noise*Planet
– Soubi Yamamoto

Something Left, Something Taken
– Tiny Inventions

Dreams – Chie Arai

Magnifying Glass – Kotaro Sato

Many Go Round
– Yoshihisa Nakanishi

Aquatic Language
– Yasuhiro Yoshiura

Picnic Rucksack
– Atsuko Koguma

Amanatsu
– Kamimazedouga

Ants – Tomomichi Nakamura

Saturday the 26th of November will see the Chapter Arts Centre screening:

Arrietty
– 11 a.m. Cinema 1 £3.50

Paprika – 1 p.m. Cinema 2 £3.50

Tales from Earthsea
– 3 p.m. Cinema 1 £3.50

Redline – 6 p.m. Cinema 1 £6.50

On top of these events there will also be haiku and calligraphy workshops, a Japanese market place where games and manga from the UK and Japan will be traded, Japanese and Korean food thanks to the Yakiniku foodshop and a charity raffle to help young mothers in the disaster hit area of Japan with tickets costing just 50p.
