Berserk Movie II Release Date Postponed
Anime UK News has received a press release delivered on behalf of Manga UK informing us of the unfortunate news that the release date Berserk Movie II has been postponed:
Today we have been informed by Kazé that due to a delay in the delivery of stock, Berserk Movie 2: The Battle For Doldrey will now be released on 2nd September. We apologise for this but it is beyond our control.
Manga Entertainment UK distributes a number of titles on behalf of Kaze in the UK and the Berserk movie trilogy is being handled by them. The first film was released at the end of last year to favourable reviews. It established the world of the franchise and the characters Guts, Griffith and Casca. The second film focusses on a pivotal point in the war between Midland and Chuder as the Band of the Hawk launch an epic battle to seize Doldrey Castle, a place thought impregnable and home to an elite band of knights in the service of the Chuder Empire.
Berserk Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey is the second films from a trilogy of movies that has adapted The Golden Age Arc of Kentarō Miura’s original manga. The films have been animated by Studio 4°C and directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka who has worked as animation director on notable titles like Gankutsuou, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. Electronic artist Hirasawa Susumu (Paprika, Paranoia Agent) who created the distinctive music for the original TV anime adaptation created the main theme “Aria” for the movie while Shiro Sagisu is handling the rest of the soundtrack.
