Patema Inverted Kickstarter Funds Over 200% Of Original Goal!
Last month, the distributor Anime Limited launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowd-fund an “Ultimate Edition” of Patema Inverted‘s upcoming home video release. The campaign asked for £16,000 to help fund the lavish physical release, which would include a translated fan guide, a numbered art card and more goodies alongside a copy of the movie on DVD and Blu-Ray.
A month on, the campaign has now closed with 937 backers pledging a total of £38,265 – which means that the project was more than 200% funded! However, the project was just shy of reaching its £40,000 goal of including the original soundtrack in the release.
For anyone who missed their chance to back this Kickstarter, any surplus copies of the Ultimate Edition will be available at retail once the backers have all received their rewards.
Patema Inverted, which was directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Time of Eve) was released in Japan last November. It won both the Audience and Judge Awards at the 2013 Scotland Loves Anime Festival and received limited theatrical screenings across the country last month.
