UPDATE: Assassination Classroom Anime Confirmed For Next Yea
UPDATE: An anime adaptation has been confirmed for next year. A live-action movie has also been green-lit.
Another day and another domain name registration possibly spoiling an incoming anime announcement!
In 2012, Weekly Shonen Jump started serialising a supernatural comedy manga by Yūsei Matsui (Neuro: Supernatural Detective) called Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyōshitsu). Today, a domain registration was discovered for “ansatsu-anime.com”, which was registered yesterday.
The series focuses on Kunugigoaka Junior High School’s Class 3-E, who are taught an unusual curriculum by an even more unusual homeroom teacher: Koro-sensei isn’t your ordinary salary man – in fact, he isn’t even a man. Koro-sensei is a yellow alien with a 10 Billion Yen bounty on his head after he destroyed 70% of the moon and the classes he teaches? As the series’ name suggests, the art of assassination! With only a year to master the art and kill their teacher, can Class 3-E master the art of assassination?
Previously, the series had a one-shot animation made for last year’s Jump Super Anime Tour, which starred Tomokazu Seki (Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero‘s Gilgamesh. Viz Media are planning to release the first volume of the manga in English this December.
