Film4 Launch Studio Ghibli Season 2015
Film4 are going to be screening Studio Ghibli films over March and April starting with Spirited Away on Saturday 28th March. Here’s the line-up and information direct from the site:

Saturday 28th March
1pm – Spirited Away
Animated feature from Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki. A young girl finds herself trapped in a mystical realm, where she must find a way to save her parents – who have been turned into pigs. (English language)
Sunday 29th March
1pm – Arrietty
Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki sprinkle their inimitable fairy dust over Mary Norton’s classic children’s tale of a family of little people who live by secretly ‘borrowing’ from their unsuspecting human neighbours. (English language)
Monday 30th March
11am – Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind
On an ecologically devastated future Earth, a warrior princess may be the only person capable of stopping an all-consuming war. Epic animated fantasy from Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki. (English language)
Tuesday 31st March
11am – Howl’s Moving Castle
The tale of an industrious young milliner magically transformed into an old woman and her involvement with the household of a dashing wizard. From the genius behind Spirited Away, Hayao Miyazaki. (English language)
Wednesday 1st April
11am – Whisper Of The Heart
Animated tale of teenage uncertainty, aspiration and love from Studio Ghibli, written by Hayao Miyazaki and directed by his protege Yoshifumi Kondo. (English language)
2.05am – Little Norse Prince
A young orphan defies a demon who’s terrorising the people of ancient Scandinavia in this early feature from Isao Takahata, later of Studio Ghibli. (Japanese language, English subtitles)
Thursday 2nd April
11am – The Cat Returns
A teenager saves a cat from traffic, only to discover he’s a prince from a magical feline kingdom. Anime from Studio Ghibli, home of Hayao Miyazaki. (English language)
2.30am – Ocean Waves
A moving animated drama from Studio Ghibli. (Japanese language, English subtitles)
Friday 3rd April
11am – Kiki’s Delivery Service
A young witch opens her own courier company in this stunning animated tale from Japan’s Hayao Miyazaki. (English language)

An independent-minded office worker reflects on her formative years in 1960s Tokyo in this coming-of-age tale from Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata. (Japanese language, English subtitles)

11am – The Castle Of Cagliostro
Hayao Miyazaki’s feature debut combines high adventure, vigorous slapstick and artistry to wonderful effect. (English language)
1.45am – My Neighbours The Yamadas
A collection of whimsical sketches of Japanese family life from Studio Ghibli. (Japanese language, English subtitles)
Friday 10th April
11am – Pom Poko
Magical raccoon dogs want to stop humans from developing their woodland habitat. Classic anime parable by Isao Takahata. (English language)
1.35am – Grave Of The Fireflies
Animated drama set in Japan toward the end of WWII. Two children fall on hard times as a result of the war, and try to go it alone. (Japanese language, English subtitles)

1pm – Tales From Earthsea
Fantasy anime loosely adapted from the works of Ursula K LeGuin. The directing debut of Goro Miyazaki, son of the Ghibli master Hayao Miyazaki. (English language)
Sunday 12th April

An orphaned boy and girl go in search of the mysterious floating kingdom of Laputa in this engaging animated feature from Hayao Miyazaki. (English language)
