Next Anime Ltd CE to go Out of Print Revealed: Persona 3 the Movie #2

A new update on the current stock status of Anime Limited Collector’s Edition items for those who need it.

A while back we mentioned that select Anime Limited titles will soon be going out of print as they are special editions with a very limited print run (around 1000 for a majority, Your Name has 2000 as an exception) – the good news is that those titles are still in stock so they haven’t sold out just yet.

But today they have confirmed that another title has been checked and will be next in line for the ‘Soon to be Out of Print’ section. Basically what this means is that once the edition has sold out on their online store, there won’t be any more reprints or stock. Other retailers may still have some left but that will be it, however you may be lucky at conventions.

The next title to receive this stock alert is Persona 3 the Movie -#2 Midsummer Knight’s Dream-, released in the UK on 3rd April 2017 (approximately around 7 months ago). The set goes for SRP £34.99 and contains the film on both Blu-ray and DVD in special packaging with artwork and translated booklet from the Japanese Blu-ray release. The discs are region locked to B & 2 and are only in Japanese with English subtitles. A standard edition Blu-ray will follow later down the line.

“I wish it would stay like this every day…” Following his transfer to Gekkoukan Private Academy, Makoto Yuki is suddenly attacked by a strange monster called Shadows and is awakened to a power which allowed him to summon a Persona.

Seeing Makoto’s potential, the members of the Specialised Extracurricular Execution Squad approach him to join them in their battle against these creatures. Makoto, initially feeling detached from the situation accepts their invitation indifferently, but as he learned more about the “Dark Hour,” and engaged in many harsh battles, he began feeling a strong bond with his teammates.

And so the season turned from spring to summer… the battle was far from over for the SEES team, now joined by a new member, but they all felt a sense of fulfilment even as they faced these abnormal circumstances.

The wheels of fate began to turn… as they were about to learn of the new trials they must face.

AUKN’s Demelza has reviewed the film if you are interested. In addition it is also streaming on Netflix and also on Animax (which we don’t recommend).

We would also like to remind folks that A Silent Voice will also be going out of print at some point. Both the Collector’s Edition and Shop Exclusive Collector’s Edition are low in stock so there won’t be much time left until they eventually discontinue. The standard edition Blu-ray and DVD sets are available. The Your Name Deluxe Edition was also mentioned to eventually be low in stock as well however we don’t know the exact figures for the time being as it has not been released until the end of the month (we do know however that the French release has already gone out of print which was 2000 units).
