Anime UK News is looking for new writers!

Update: The deadline for this role has now passed. Thank you to everyone who applied, and we’ll be reaching out to all applicants as soon as a decision is made.

Due to the recent expansion of the UK anime industry, we’ve got more to report on, review, and cover than ever before. To help meet this growing demand, we’re looking for news writers and reviewers to join our diverse team of talented volunteers.

We’re looking for anyone enthusiastic about anime, manga, and/or light novels, and who is able to express that passion in clear English, with good spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Both positions are voluntary and unpaid.

For prospective news writers, you’ll help our news team stay on top of the latest developments applicable to the UK, and help expand our coverage to bring the most exciting news to our readers.

For reviewers, your passion means you can offer your take on the latest releases in a clear, enthusiastic manner – your job will be to help our readers know what’s hot and what’s not. As a bonus, we are sometimes able to provide review materials to our reviewers, such as screener discs or volumes of manga/light novels.

If you’re interested in one or both roles, send an email to [email protected] with the following:

  • A couple of lines introducing yourself and your interests.
  • Which role (news writer, reviewer, or both) you’re interested in.
  • A sample review or news article for us to consider, or both if you’d be willing to cover both roles.

We’ll be accepting applications until the 14th August. Best of luck to all applicants!
