Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us Hits Cinemas This Year

Following last year’s highly successful release of Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, Fathom Events and The Pokémon Company International are once again teaming up to give Pokémon fans a theatrical treat this year. Announced this morning, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us will be released in selected cinemas later this year.

A co-production between franchise regulars OLM, Inc and Attack On Titan‘s WIT Studio, the film was released in Japan earlier this month as Pokémon The Movie: Everyone’s Story. The new title for the English dub release is likely paying homage to Pokémon the Movie 2000: The Power of One, which the movie pays multiple references to – most notably by featuring the legendary Pokémon Lugia.

Fathom Events and The Pokémon Company International have yet to confirm UK dates and locations, but have announced that the film will be screening in North America on 24, 26, 28 November and 1st December. When more information is available, you’ll be able to read it on Anime UK News!

Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You received a limited theatrical release on 5-6 November last year, with the British Film Institute’s publicly released figures placing it as the highest grossing UK release of an anime film that year. Manga Entertainment UK released the film on DVD and later, a Limited Edition Blu-ray steelbook.
