Watch the First Teaser for CG Anime “Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution”
After twenty-one 2D animated feature films, the Pokémon franchise is fully embracing CG in 2019 – and we don’t just mean Hollywood’s Ryan Reynold’s fronted Detective Pikachu movie. Initially teased with Japanese screenings of Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us (which is amazing, by the way, 2019’s film was teased as Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution, evoking the title of the very first film in the franchise, 1998’s Pokémon the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back.
Following its recent premier on the Oha Suta variety show, The Pokémon Company’s official YouTube channel has finally uploaded the first teaser trailer for the film, showcasing its new 3D CG visual style.
Further information about the film, which is currently set for release in Japan on 12th July 2019, is currently unknown, but you’ll be able to find all future updates here at Anime UK News!
