Manga UK’s Spring Slate Adds DARLING in the FRANXX, Black Clover & More!
Manga Entertainment UK will be releasing Studio Trigger/CloverWorks’ Sci-Fi romance DARLING in the FRANXX and Studio Pierrot’s fantasy action series Black Clover, the company revealed in their Spring 2019 release schedule.
DARLING in the FRANXX Part 1 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 27 2019. Crunchyroll, who simulcast the series as it aired last year, describes it as follows:
The distant future: Humanity established the mobile fort city, Plantation, upon the ruined wasteland. Within the city were pilot quarters, Mistilteinn, otherwise known as the “Birdcage.” That is where the children live… Their only mission in life was the fight. Their enemies are the mysterious giant organisms known as Kyoryu. The children operate robots known as FRANXX in order to face these still unseen enemies. Among them was a boy who was once called a child prodigy: Code number 016, Hiro. One day, a mysterious girl called Zero Two appears in front of Hiro. “I’ve found you, my Darling.”
Black Clover Season One Part One was previously released in the United Kingdom last year by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, as a DVD and Blu-ray combo-pack. Manga UK’s continuation of the series however, will be a split format DVD and Blu-ray. Sony Pictures Entertainment released a selection of Funimation Entertainment anime titles last year, but have yet to announce any new titles since Yuri!!! On ICE last September.
On 15th April, Manga UK will also be releasing Pokémon – Partner up with Pikachu!. The DVD will include four Pikachu themed episodes from the franchise’s Indigo League season, which was previously released on DVD & Blu-ray. The episodes are as follows: “Pokémon – I Choose You!“, “Showdown in Pewter City!”, “The Electric Shock Showdown” and “Pikachu’s Goodbye“.
The distributor also confirmed that their planned release of the French-Japanese collaboration MFKZ will now be digital-only when it launches in June.
