New Update on Anime Limited’s FLCL Original Soundtrack Music Vinyl Release
Distributor Anime Limited has announced a new update with more information surrounding their music vinyl release for FLCL’s Original Soundtrack.
To recap what was mentioned back in MCM London May 2019, the distributor plans to bring the original soundtrack for FLCL on Vinyl first with plans for CD format later down the line. On their latest blog post, they have revealed new information and a quick Q&A about the release.
The Vinyl release will be presented in 2 x black 180g vinyl LPs with gatefold packaging (313 x 313mm square with an 8mm spine, 634mm with gatefold opened wide) and square print liner notes (300 x 300mm) on the songs and lyrics included.
The suggested retail price is £34.99 and a release date is 11th November 2019. To ensure the release is at its best condition, Anime Limited worked closely with King Records in Japan. The required playback speed is 33rpm.
Starting Friday 6th November, you can pre-order the Vinyl through Shop AllTheAnime and Rightstuf Anime. As mentioned at MCM, Anime Limited holds the music rights for FLCL’s original soundtrack for all English-speaking territories including the United States and Canada.

In terms of other specific information, the Vinyl release will only be available exclusively through Shop AllTheAnime and Rightstuf Anime. In terms of music formats, only Vinyl and CD are confirmed. The release will be a one-time limited print run with no plans for reprints. They do have other Vinyl projects in the works including A Silent Voice and Trigun but at the time of this post there are currently no updates for those.
If you are one of the few who still has that discount Vinyl code for Shop AllTheAnime a few years ago (Christmas 2017 to be exact), the distributor has confirmed those are still valid (as long as they haven’t been used on other products).
