Dark Horse Anime Expo 2019 Announcements

Book publisher Dark Horse announced a couple of things during their industry panel over at Anime Expo 2019.

Isle of Dogs

(Inugashima)

犬ヶ島

Dark Horse has acquired Minetarō Mochizuki’s 2018 manga adaptation of Wes Anderson’s 2018 animated film of the same name. The publisher has confirmed it will be released in hardback binding, 7.5″ by 10.5″ dimensions, slipcover, and end papers.

The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service

(Kurosagi Shitai Takuhaibin)

黒鷺死体宅配便

The second announcement is the return of The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service manga series. Dark Horse released the first 14 volumes of the manga followed by four omnibus volumes, before eventually putting the series on hiatus.

The sales for the omnibuses have prompted the publisher to resume the series in that format, with Omnibus 5 covering volumes 13-15 due for March 2020, followed by Omnibus 6 covering volumes 16-18 later in 2020. More Omnibuses will follow suit if these perform well. In Japan, there are currently 25 volumes in print.

That’s all of the news revealed at the panel. Dark Horse will reveal more info including pre-orders for these titles in the near future.
