Dubbed Tales from Earthsea gets UK cinema run in August

It appears that Studio Ghibli’s newest movie Tales from Earthsea (directed by Hayao Miyazaki’s son, Goro Miyazaki) will be getting full theatrical treatment in the UK; according to Optimum Releasing, the movie will begin its (limited) UK cinema run on 3rd August.

Somewhat surprisingly, the movie has been dubbed into English too; the BBFC note (having rated the movie as a PG) that the high profile voice cast includes the likes of Timothy Dalton, Mariska Hargitay and Willem Dafoe. Given the US release of ‘Earthsea has been stuck in legal-hell, it was not expected that an English dub would be produced for the movie’s releases outside of the US.
