Bones eat souls
The highly regarded Japanese animation studio “Bones”, responsible for such acclaimed productions as “Fullmetal Alchemist”, “Wolf’s Rain” and “Eureka Seven”; have finally announced by way of the opening of an official website that they will produce the animated version of the “cool & pop action fantasy” manga “Soul Eater”. An anonymous post on the Japanese message board “2Chan” also adds that the series will be directed by “Ouran High Host Club” director Takuya Igarashi, although this is unconfirmed officially.
The “Soul Eater” manga, unpublished in the English speaking world, revolves around the ‘Shinigami Weaponry Vocational School’, where a human is paired with a demon. They work together to collect 99 human souls and a single soul of a witch in order to transform the demon into a fully fledged shinigami (god of death).
It has been a while since “Bones” have announced a new production since their most recent series “Darker Than Black” and “The Skull Man” aired on Japanese television in April, and their latest movie “Stranger Mukoh Hadan” was released in September in Japan after being announced back in 2003, so no doubt this information will make a lot of Bones’ fans happy.
