Live-Action Kiki’s Delivery Service Teaser Video

A teaser video for the live-action Kiki’s Delivery Service has been released on Mainichi Shimbun’s Mantan Web site as the film’s theatrical release (March 01st, 2014) creeps closer!

The film is the second movie adaptation of Eiko Kadono’s famous six volume novel series. Anime fans will be well aware that the first movie adaptation in animated form from Studio Ghibli in 1989. This version is directed by J-horror maestro Takashi Shimizu (Ju-On: The Curse, Marebito) and it is written by Satoko Okudera (The Wolf Children). Kiki is played by former figure-skater Fuka Koshibe who made her acting debut in the eleven episode TV series Breathless Summer (2012) and Tombo is played by Ryuhei Hirota, an actor since he was a child who has appeared in the movie Police Dog Dream (2010) dramas Tokyo Tower (2007) and Suzuki Sensei (2011).
