Tamako Love Story anime movie confirmed for April 2014

It was previously announced that Kyoto Animation were working on a new Tamako Market project, following up from the television anime series that aired at the beginning of the year. Today, it has finally been revealed that the new project is Tamako Love Story, a brand-new film that will open in Japanese theatres on 26th April, 2014. The director, head scriptwriter, character designer and main cast members will all be reprising their roles.

Tamako Market was a 12 episode slice of life series that centered on Dera Mochimazzwi, a bossy, overweight bird from a tropical island who departs on a journey to find a suitable wife for his Prince. Eventually, he ends up in Japan and in particular, the Usagiyama Shopping District, where he befriends Tamako Kitashirakawa, the daughter of a Mochi shop owner and soon becomes acquainted with both the lives and love lives of the shopping district’s residents. The series has been licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks.
