Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Blood Prison Cancelled

On 1st December, Manga Entertainment UK will be releasing Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Blood Prison the fifth theatrical feature based on Masashi Kishimoto’s iconic Weekly Shonen Jump manga, Naruto. As with previous releases in the franchise, the movie was originally slated to be released in three different ways: a standard DVD, a standard blu-ray and as part of a boxset, featuring the four preceeding theatrical features.

Today however, Manga UK announced on their Twitter account to announce that the standard blu-ray release of the movie has been cancelled and instead, the high definition version of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Blood Prison will be exclusive to the pentalogy boxset, which will be released on the same day. The movie will still be available as a standalone DVD.

Earlier today, Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed that the original manga will be ending on 10th November, ending the series’ fifteen year run.
