New “Yu-Gi-Oh!” Movie To Open In 2016

In 2016, Kazuki Takahashi’s hit manga Yu-Gi-Oh! will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of its debut in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga anthology magazine. The official teaser website for this upcoming occasion has now revealed that as part of the franchise’s 20th Anniversary plans, a brand new movie focusing on an all-new story revolving around Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba will be released in Japanese cinemas! This will be the series’ fourth theatrical feature, following on from Toei Animation’s Japan-only Yu-Gi-Oh! (1999), Nihon Ad System’s Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light (2004) and Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D: Bonds Beyond on Time (2010).

In addition to the news of the 2016 movie, the website also confirmed that a digitally remastered version of the original 2000 Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters television anime will begin broadcasting on TV Tokyo and its affiliates from 7th February 2015.
