Crunchyroll Arrives On Wii!
The legacy of NIntendo’s break-out success lives on, following an announcement from the anime streaming service Crunchyroll that they have expanded the list of supported platforms by releasing an application for the Wii, allowing owners of NIntendo’s previous generation console to enjoy an expansive streaming library containing the likes of Naruto Shippuden, Attack On Titan and currently airing anime, such as Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. The application can be downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel for free, but a Premium Membership is required to access its complete library.
Following its launch in 2006, the appeal of the Wii’s iconic motion controls led to widespread success with the mass-market, resulting in over 100 million sales worldwide, making it the third-highest selling home console of all time behind Sony’sPlayStation 2 and its predecessor, the PlayStation.
Crunchyroll released an application for Nintendo’s current generation, the HD-ready Wii U, in January of this year.
