Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Initiation listed for UK Theatrical Release this March
NEW UPDATE: Anime Limited have officially revealed theatrical details and more, see here for the newest update!
One of the most anticipated films recently released in Japan will be making its way towards the UK it seems, according to a surprise listing found on Showcase Cinema’s coming soon section.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I: Initiation is the first film in a brand new compilation trilogy that recaps the events of Code Geass and Code Geass R2 in preparation for the show’s upcoming third season coming soon. Details for this listing is vague at the moment aside from a run-time of 2 hours 15 minutes and a release date for Wednesday 21st March 2018.
UPDATE: We have received word that more information on Code Geass will be revealed soon by Anime Limited so stay tuned!
Before this there had been no mention of the films ever reaching the UK & Ireland whatsoever. The main series did receive a release on Blu-ray and DVD from KAZE UK. In the meantime here’s the trailer from Madman’s Australian theatrical release:
What’s interesting about this listing is that Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms was also set for March 2018 when it was first announced, and usually there’s at least 1 anime film at the cinema per month (presumably to avoid over-saturation). However it seems that the film will instead be shown later in the year on Wednesday 27th June 2018 according to another Showcase listing. Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms will be released in the UK theatrically by Anime Limited.
