Bandai Namco Announces Jump Force & Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition for Western release

During the Microsoft E3 2018 press conference, publisher Bandai Namco have announced a couple Japanese games making their way to the west!


The first announcement is Jump Force, a brand new crossover 3D brawler featuring many characters from Shonen Jump! So far the publisher confirms the appearance of Goku & Frieza from Dragon Ball, Naruto & Sasuke from Naruto, Luffy & Zoro from One Piece as playable characters, and surprisingly Light Yagami & Ryuk from Death Note is making an appearance also. More characters will be revealed over time.

For the first time ever, the most famous Manga heroes are thrown into a whole new battleground: our world. Uniting to fight the most dangerous threat, the Jump Force will bear the fate of the entire human kind.

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the famous Weekly Jump Magazine, Jump Force is also making the most of latest technologies to bring characters to life in a never-seen-before realistic design.

The game will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for 2019. Spike Chunsoft are developing the game using the Unreal Engine. Pre-orders are available on Amazon UK for both PlayStation 4 & Xbox One.

Bandai Namco previously released J-Stars Victory Vs. for PlayStation formats in the west with all characters in the roster intact.


The second announcement is the return of Tales of Vesperia, celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first release. Entitled Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition, the game will be based on the PlayStation 3 Japan-exclusive version with dual audio options and remastered visuals.

The game will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for this Winter.

Tales of Vesperia started as an Xbox 360 exclusive until it eventually made its way onto the PlayStation 3 with new content. The former was made available in the west while the latter was exclusive to Japan & Asia.


Other Japanese games revealed during E3 include Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5, FROM SOFTWARE’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Square Enix’s NieR Automata for Xbox One.

Bandai Namco also have a ton of Japanese games coming throughout the year including Black Clover: Quartet Knights, Code VeinMy Hero One’s JusticeNaruto to Boruto: Shinobi StrikerOne Piece World Seeker and New Gundam Breaker.
