Afro Samurai, Black Butler II, Blood-C, Deadman Wonderland Scheduled for Funimation Now UK

Distributor Funimation has revealed the next batch of catalog titles from their acquisition with Manga Entertainment onto their release schedule for their streaming service Funimation Now.

All four anime shows below will be available starting Wednesday 24th July 2019:

Afro Samurai

All 5 episodes of the 2007 original series from studio GONZO featuring Samuel L. Jackson. The series has been available with Manga UK since 2009 and can be picked up on Blu-ray and DVD.

As a kid, he saw his father slaughtered. Now a man, Afro journeys to face destiny. The perpetrators are gonna get what they deserve.

Black Butler II (Kuroshitsuji II)

All 12 episodes of the 2010 series from A-1 Pictures based on Yana Toboso’s manga series of the same name. The series has been available with Manga UK since 2011 and can be picked up on DVD. The rights for the series in the United States and Canada belong to Aniplex.

Ciel Phantomhive was born into a life of luxury, only to have his beloved parents brutally murdered before his eyes. Wrought with grief and tortured by the very fiends who killed his mother and father, Ciel summoned the services of an exquisite butler born of the fires of hell. Together, they’ll turn merry old England on its ear while hunting the mysterious villains who made Ciel an orphan.

Blood-C

All 12 episodes of the 2011 original series from studio Production I.G featuring artwork from CLAMP. The series has been available with Manga UK since 2013 and can be picked up on Blu-ray and DVD.

Saya’s cheerful, clumsy exterior makes her well-liked at school, and she works hard to help out at her father’s shrine. However, her sunny disposition hides a secret: she spends her nights wielding a sacred blade against demonic monsters. She slashes through the shadows to protect her friends and family, but unbeknownst to Saya, she’s not the only one with secrets.

Deadman Wonderland

All 12 episodes of the 2011 series from studio Manglobe based on Jinsei Kataoka’s manga series of the same name. The series has been available with Manga UK since 2013 and can be picked up on Blu-ray and DVD.

Ganta is convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. He’s locked up in Deadman Wonderland, where prisoners are forced to fight gladiatorial battles for tourists.

More titles including Naruto Shippuden will be coming to Funimation Now in the future for the United Kingdom and Ireland regions. Funimation announced their acquisition of Manga Entertainment on 29th May 2019.
