About Cannon Busters:
Follow the adventures and exploits of S.A.M, a high-end, royal-class, friendship droid who’s joined by a quirky, discarded maintenance robot and a brash, deadly fugitive. Together, the unlikely trio embarks on an unforgettable journey in a fantastic and dangerous world in search of S.A.M’s best friend, the heir to a powerful kingdom under siege.
Cannon Busters started off as a comic book series written by LeSean Thomas and J. Torres. A Kickstarter campaign to provide an anime short was successful and eventually, Manga Entertainment offered to co-produce and Netflix jumped in to provide a 12 episode series for their platform. Japanese studio Satelight is known for its work on the later installments of the Macross franchise and other projects including Aquarion and the Symphogear franchise.
LeSean Thomas will continue to provide more anime for Netflix, like his next project Yasuke which will be animated by studio MAPPA and features actor Lakeith Stanfield (Death Note, Get Out, Sorry to Bother You) in the lead role. LeSean Thomas also created Children of Ether which is available on Crunchyroll.
