Manga Entertainment’s Q3 2020 Anime Release Slate (Updated), Featuring Astra Lost in Space, Dumbbells, Dragon Maid & More

The third quarter release schedule for UK anime distributor Manga Entertainment has been revealed through listings from Amazon UK followed by the distributor’s official announcement. The schedule will be offering a mixture of shonen anime releases, catalogue anime coming to the UK for the first time on home video as well as newer releases.

The list below will specify the release format and whether a limited edition is being offered. Every anime below will include the main Japanese audio language with English subtitles as well as the English dub. All plot synopsis mentioned below is credited by Crunchyroll, Funimation, Sentai Filmworks and Viz Media.

Astra Lost in Space

The Summer 2019 anime series will make its home video debut in a complete series collection. It will be available on Blu-ray starting 31st August 2020.

“In the year 2063, eight high school students and a kid are flown out to Planet Camp, tasked with surviving on their own for a few days. But shortly after arriving, an ominous glowing orb warps them to an unknown quadrant of space, nearly 5,012 light years away. Now, the only way back home is a slow, dangerous trek across the universe – a journey that’ll test them in ways Planet Camp never could.

Black Clover

More Black Clover episodes are coming! Starting with Season 2 Part 3 which covers episodes 73 to 83 will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 6th July 2020.

In addition, Season 2 Part 4 which covers episodes 84 to 90 will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 7th September 2020.

“Just as the Black Bulls return from the Underwater Temple, they find more trouble brewing in the capital! After learning about the terrorist attacks on the Clover Kingdom, the Diamond Kingdom decides it’s time to make their move. Sending their Shining Generals, they prepare an all-out siege on the border town of Kiten. But not even broken arms will stop Asta from jumping into this fight!”

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

More Boruto episodes continue with Part 4 which covers episodes 40 to 51. It will be available on Blu-ray starting 10th August 2020.

“Mission time! Boruto and Team 7’s simple mission becomes a lot more complicated when it turns into a kidnapping case! Shikadai and his team find themselves embroiled in the affairs of the mysterious Byakuya Gang. What are the goals of these masked marauders? Are they just crooks or something more? Then the all-girl team led by Hanabi gets into a hairy situation. Never a dull day in the Leaf Village!”

Bungo Stray Dogs

The Bungo Stray Dogs anime franchise is making its UK home video debut! Starting with the first and second season collection, which will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 20th July 2020.

Then, the third season collection and the film Dead Apple will both be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 7th September 2020.

“Atsushi Nakajima has no idea that a beastly white tiger lives inside him – a power that interests the eccentric members of a crimefighting agency. Together with this motley crew, he’ll claw through mafia-muddled mysteries, and face a gifted group of Americans who threaten his city!”

COP CRAFT

The Summer 2019 anime series will make its home video debut in a complete series collection. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 10th August 2020.

“Fifteen years ago, a hyperspace gate appeared in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, connecting Earth to a strange world filled with fairies and monsters. The city of San-Teresa became a home for over two million of these otherworldly visitors. Unfortunately, the population boom also brought its fair share of problems drugs, prostitution, and trafficking. To combat the rampant crime lurking in the city’s shadows, a new department was established in the San-Teresa Metropolitan Police.

Former JSDF soldier Kei Matoba is one of the best cops that the department has to offer, despite his inclination to occasionally bend the rules. After a fairy trafficking case goes wrong, Kei loses Rick Fury, his friend and partner of four years, setting him on a quest for vengeance. To help him with the case, the department pairs him with Tilarna Exedilika, a noble of the Farbani Kingdom. As one of the Knights of Mirvor, her duty is to rescue the noble fairy that Kei encountered during his last case. Despite his distaste for non-humans, he accepts the arrangement at the request of his superiors. Now, the unlikely duo must come together and overcome their differences in order to return the missing fairy to her country and avenge the death of Kei’s partner.”

Fairy Gone

The Spring 2019 anime series will make its home video debut with Part 1 covering episodes 1 to 12. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 3rd August 2020.

“Able to summon fairies as alter-ego weapons, former soldiers become government dogs, mafia members, and even terrorists in search of purpose beyond the battlefield. Can the Fairy Soldiers of Dorothea maintain the peace that they fought for nine years ago?”

Fairy Tail

More Fairy Tail collections are coming to the UK! Starting with Collection 4 covering episodes 73 to 96, which were included in Parts 7 & 8 of the individual releases released prior, on Blu-ray and DVD starting 6th July 2020.

Next, we have Collection 5 covering episodes 97-120, which were included in Parts 9 & 10 of the individual releases, coming to Blu-ray & DVD starting 31st August 2020.

“When an unstoppable force descends upon Magnolia and Fairy Tail, the entire town is transported to Edolas, a world where magic is in short supply. There, a power-hungry kingdom plans on draining the captured guild’s magic. High School DxD BorN & HERO

The fourth season of the popular High School DxD series, High School DxD HERO, will make its UK home video debut for the first time. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 3rd August 2020.

In addition, the third season, High School DxD BorN will be making a return from Funimation UK under Manga Ent. It will be back on Blu-ray starting 21st September 2020.

“Issei is suddenly attacked in Kyoto by a mysterious fox yokai – whose mother is missing – and it looks like the Chaos Brigade is behind it! Only the Grabbing Dragon and his voluptuous vixens are prepared to face them and get the fox yokai’s mother back.”

How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?

“During a regular after-school grub crawl, gluttonous high schooler Hibiki Sakura is confronted about her ever-expanding waistline by her best friend, Ayaka Uehara. With her attempts at solitary exercise failing miserably, Hibiki decides to join the newly opened Silverman Gym. At her orientation, Hibiki runs into student council president and school idol Akemi Souryuuin.

However, it soon turns out that Hibiki is in for a lot more than she bargained for. Not only is Silverman Gym full of world-renowned bodybuilders and athletes, but to make matters worse, Akemi turns out to be a total muscle fetishist! Grossed out by the scene unfolding before her eyes, Hibiki begins to leave, only to be stopped by trainer Naruzou Machio. Completely enthralled with her newfound Prince Charming, Hibiki signs up as a gym member. Now, as a result of her spur-of-the-moment decision, Hibiki must adapt to her new lifestyle.”

ID: INVADED

The Winter 2020 anime series which Funimation co-produced will make its home video debut much sooner than other anime. It will be available on Blu-ray starting 24th August 2020 in both limited edition and standard edition sets.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion

The theatrical anime film from the DanMachi franchise is coming to the UK on home video. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 7th September 2020.

“In the city of Orario, beneath an impossibly tall tower, lies the dungeon. Only adventurers who form partnerships with the gods themselves have any hope of defeating the monsters that lie within. But the dungeon is not the only place where monsters exist. Far from Orario, in the ruins of an ancient city, a new threat arises. To counter this threat, the goddess Artemis has come to Orario in search of a champion but it’s not Ais Wallenstein (the legendary Sword Princess) nor Ottar (the strongest warrior to ever enter the dungeon) that she chooses. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid

Kyoto Animation’s adaptation of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid’s first season will make its UK home video debut for the first time. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 17th August 2020.

“What happens when a drunken promise leads to living with a dragon? That’s Miss Kobayashi’s new reality when Tohru, her new maid-slash-dragon appears in her life! And if one wasn’t enough, in comes Kanna, a little dragon with a big attitude. Soon, Kobayashi has a house full of adorable dragons – one serving tail and the other serving serious moe.”

My Hero Academia Season 2

The second season of the popular shonen anime series is coming back to the UK under Manga Entertainment after Sony Pictures released Parts 1 & 2 a few years ago. This time it will be released as a complete season two collection set on Blu-ray and DVD starting 21st September 2020.

At UA Academy, not even a violent attack can disrupt their most prestigious event: the school sports festival. Renowned across Japan, this festival is an opportunity for aspiring heroes to showcase their abilities, both to the public and potential recruiters.

However, the path to glory is never easy, especially for Izuku Midoriya whose quirk possesses great raw power but is also cripplingly inefficient. Pitted against his talented classmates, such as the fire and ice wielding Shouto Todoroki, Izuku must utilize his sharp wits and master his surroundings to achieve victory and prove to the world his worth.

NEW GAME! & NEW GAME! +

The first and second seasons of NEW GAME! will be released in a complete collection. It will be available on Blu-ray starting 27th July 2020.

More One Piece episodes are coming from the New World saga! Starting with Collection 22 which covers the Fishman Island arc episodes 517 to 540. It will be available on DVD starting 6th July 2020.

Then we have Collection 23 that continues the Fishman Island arc with episodes 541 to 563. It will be available on DVD starting 7th September 2020.

“Armed with newfound strength, the Straw Hats reunite in Sabaody Archipelago and begin their journey to the New World. Heading underwater, they’ll have to take on the cantankerous creatures of the deep sea before reaching their next stop – Fish-man Island. Prison School

Initially released as part of Funimation UK, the ecchi anime series makes a return to the UK home video scene under Manga Ent. It will be back on Blu-ray starting 14th September 2020.
