Funimation UK Schedules One Punch Man Season 2 Blu-ray Release, Limited Edition Included
UK distributor Funimation has announced plans to release One Punch Man Season 2 for the United Kingdom and Ireland, starting 13th September 2021.
The second season of the One Punch Man anime series was animated by studio J.C. Staff, taking over from studio Madhouse who handled the first season. Chikara Sakurai directed this season with Yoshikazu Iwanami as sound director, while writer Tomohiro Suzuki, character designer Chikashi Kubota and music composer Makoto Miyazaki reprise their roles from the previous season. The series is based on the manga series written by author ONE (Mob Psycho 100) and illustrated by Yusuke Murata (Eyeshield 21).
The UK release will be available as a standard Blu-ray & DVD release. SRP is confirmed to be £29.99 for Blu-ray and £24.99 for DVD. In addition, a limited edition Blu-ray box set will also be available, priced at SRP £59.99. You can pre-order these over on Zavvi right now, with more retailers to follow soon.
The limited edition Blu-ray box set comes with a rigid box, an Amaray case housing the two Blu-ray discs, 6 art cards, and a 60 page booklet. It is not currently known if the art cards will be used as a way to change the front cover look, like how Viz Media have handled their limited edition release of the series.
“In the wake of defeating Boros and his mighty army, Saitama has returned to his unremarkable everyday life in Z-City. However, unbeknownst to him, the number of monsters appearing is still continuously on the rise, putting a strain on the Hero Association’s resources. Their top executives decide on the bold move of recruiting hoodlums in order to help in their battle. But during the first meeting with these potential newcomers, a mysterious man calling himself Garou makes his appearance. Claiming to be a monster, he starts mercilessly attacking the crowd.”
